Consulate General of India – One day camp in the Lehigh Valley

The Organizations serving the Indian-Americans in the Lehigh is bringing you the Consular General of India team to the Lehigh Valley for One day to help you with getting your Indian VISA or OCI or to renew your Indian Passport.
At the Consular Camp the Consulate officials will be pre- approving the applications of Indian passport holders/ US Passport holders (Indian origin) who have applied for or are in the process of applying for Passport/OCI/Visa/OCI card may come to the venue. Applicant has to be personally present at the venue for all services (No third party or agent may be entertained).

Who should come to the camp?
- If you are planning to go to CKGS or CGI-NY for any consular needs, you can come to this camp
- If you are planning to apply for an Indian visa, OCI Card, renew Indian Passport or renounce Indian Citizenship, you can come to this camp
- If you have general inquiries you can come to this camp
- This is like Indian Consulate setting up a camp outside New York City to serve the community. In fact, Indian Consul General from the New York will be present at the camp.
What to bring to the camp?
- Fill out online application and make appointments online at www.in.cgkgs.us
- 2 Passport size photographs for each application
- Standard application fees will apply. CKGS will collect payments by cashier’s check, money order and credit / debit card machines. No personal checks or cash will be accepted.
- Notary public will be at the camp and can notarize documents for a fee.
- Applicant has to be personally present at the venue for all services (No third party or agent may be entertained).
Will I get to keep my passport after verification?
OCI renewal pre-approval will be done at the camp. If US passport is shown at the camp site, CGI would make a note of it in the application form and shall allow you to keep your passport.

Services and Fees
Kindly note that since this is only a Facilitation Camp before submitting to CKGS. Applications with all supporting documents would be examined at the Facilitation Camp and approved for submission to CKGS
- Attestation of Power of Attorney (Fee: USD 22 may be paid through money order/cashiers’ cheque in favour of Consulate General of India, New York)
- Attestation of Life Certificates (Fee: USD 2 may be paid through money order/cashiers’ cheque in favour of Consulate General of India, New York). Life Certificate will be attested on the spot if the applicant has the life certificate forwarded by the Pension authorities. In case of issue of Life Certificate by the Consulate, the application will be accepted but the certificate will be issued later by the Consulate.
- Attestation of other documents like Passports/driving licenses etc.(Fee: USD 12 may be paid by money order/cashiers’ cheque in favour of Consulate General of India, New York).
- Acceptance/examination/issue of Renunciation Certificate/Declaration. Fees for renunciation are $ 178 for Naturalization post June 1st 2010 and $28 for Naturalization prior to June 1st, 2010. Penalty payment in case of late surrender of Passports will also be applicable.
- Accept and scrutinize requests for Certificates like Birth Certificates/Marriage certificate/Police Clearance Certificates etc. (Fee: For Birth certificate/Marriage certificate is USD 27 and for Police Clearance Certificates USD 27 (if the current passport is issued from the New York Consulate) and USD 42 (if the current passport is issued elsewhere).
While services mentioned at S.Nos 1 to 4 will be rendered at the Camp, the applications for the services mentioned at S. No. 5 will be accepted by the Camp officials and brought back to the Consulate in New York for the Certificate to be sent back to the applicant through Post. The applicant can either pay an additional fees of USD 25 for return mailing or provide pre-paid envelope.
